Meet our principals
Jerry D. Purdy, AIA
Jerry Purdy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from Iowa State University in 1976. Jerry was the creator and principal-in-charge of Design Alliance, Inc., which was founded in March 1991. He provides broad-based experience in educational, religious, housing, and municipal facilities. Additional strengths include design creativity and administration skills.
Jerry is the past president of the Iowa Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute. He served as chairman of the AIA Iowa Professional Development Committee and is registered in Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Texas, and Michigan. Jerry completed one term as a school board member serving the Adel-De Soto-Minburn School District.
David J. Harrison, AIA, LEED AP
David Harrison received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976, and his Master of Architecture degree in 1978, from Iowa State University. He has been with Design Alliance, Inc., and its predecessor firm for more than 12 years. David has a variety of project experience, including educational, university, recreational, laboratory, office, correctional, maintenance, and housing projects.
David’s extensive experience working with State of Iowa, governmental, and Iowa State University projects is an asset to the firm. David has had the principal-in-charge role on more than $60 million of renovation projects in the past five years.
Robert C. Ridgway, AIA
Bob Ridgway received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1985 and concluded graduate studies in architectural design at Iowa State University in 1989. Bob joined Design Alliance, Inc. in 2001, following employment with firms specializing in retail, residential, and medical architecture. Since joining Design Alliance, he has been involved in educational, office, governmental, and religious projects.
Bob finds solutions for our clients that are creative, efficient, constructible, and visually attractive. Bob has recently served as the lead architect the $18 million State of Iowa Department of Public Safety project. He was promoted to a principal of the firm in 2005.
