This was a significant project for the State of Iowa and Design Alliance. The former Records and Property Building just southwest of the State Capitol Building was converted into the headquarters for the Iowa State Patrol, Division of Criminal Investigation, Fire Marshall’s Office, Narcotics Enforcement, Commissioner’s Office, and other supporting entities of the Department. This $18 million project involved totally remodeling the 66,000-square foot building and adding 33,000 square feet. The project will be LEED Certified.

A 10,000 sq. ft. addition allowed for a commons, restrooms, classrooms, and food service operations, while a renovation revived the existing 112,000 sq. ft. facility.

A renovation updated this school’s existing 85,000 sq. ft. facility. The 10,000 sq. ft. addition houses a new gymnasium, commons, restrooms and food service operations.

This three-story, turn-of-the-century factory building was remodeled to house the offices of the Adel City Administrator, Clerk, City Council, and city utilities. A two-story lobby with ceramic tile, a steel stairway, and tropical planter with a fountain successfully incorporates the existing exposed steel columns and a city-salvaged antique transaction counter into the overall design. Additions include an elevator and handicapped-accessible restrooms.

A remodel updated the facility to meet current retail store standards, double the square footage of the current workroom, and add various other program spaces.
